International organisations are advanced in supporting the Hanoi Mural
All Embassy, the Cultural Foundations and Centers, Companies, NGOs amd other organisations are invited to participate in Hanoi Ceramic Mural Project, contributing to the Gift for Hanoi on occassion of its 1000th anniversary by the fall of 2010. We would like to list out in bellow the helps, which we have accepted so far from the International organisations and friends...
- Ford Foundation: In January 2008, Ford Foundation became the first financial sponsor when they agreed to support the completion of 450m² of ceramic mosaic mural. Ph.D Michael DiGregorio, FF Program officer, also helps New Hanoi Art to invite to Hanoi as the consultants for HCM Project some welknown US public artists such as Jane Golden-executive director of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program; Jon Pounds- executive director of Chicago Public Art Group and ceramist; or adjunct professor of arts Joel Bennett from Santa Rosa Junior college (California).
- Danish Embassy in Hanoi: In February 2008, through the Cultural Development and Exchange Fund of Denmark (CDEF), the Danish Embassy has also announced to support two artists Morten Espersen and Michael Geertsen, to contribute 50m² in length of the Hanoi Ceramic Mural. These two artists expect to come from Denmark to Hanoi either in Sep 2008 or in early 2009 to work together with the Vietnamese colleagues in creating the mural. Ms. Tove Degnbol, Deputy Head of Mission of the Danish Embassy in Hanoi was a honorary guest in the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Public Art and Community Development” in Ly Thai To park on 13rd June 2008.
- Goethe Institut in Hanoi: In June 2008, Goethe Institut has strongly supported the New Hanoi Arts by giving the space to organise the Symposium “Public Art and Community Development” .
Mrs Marleen Steenbergen, Vice Chairperson of Friends of Vietnam Heritage, helps as a liaison to contact the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Hanoi to ask sponsorship for 50m2 of Hanoi Ceramic mural. A proposal design of “Van Gogh’s Sky” has been drafted.
- Embassy of Italy in Hanoi: Mr. Cesare Bierller-Head of Political and Cultural Section and Mr. Giuseppe Tidona-Lecturer of the Italian Embassy promised to invite some ceramist artists from a Sicily ceramic village to come to Hanoi to participate in the Hanoi Ceramic Mural project.
- Canadian Embassy in Hanoi : Mrs.Corinne Paollilo provides the useful pictures of Mosaics and public arts from Canada and France.
- Australian Embassy in in Hanoi: Mr.Damien Coke-Third Secretary Political / Cultural is helping to contact with Australian Public Art artists from Well Spring (Melbourne).
- Casa Asia (Barcelona, Spain): Ms Nana Cardona from this organisation is helping to invite Spanish artist Frederic Amat to come to Hanoi to take part in the Hanoi Ceramic Mural Project.
- New Zealand Embassy in hanoi: Mrs. Alison Kember- the New Zealand Ambassador's wife promised to help inviting the Maori artists to participate in HCM.
